I took a very long break from the blogging world. I realize if I try and re-cap everything that has gone on since Sept. 2010, I would be kidding my self so, I am going to start for the month of oct.

October hasbeen a very long month, and usually is because there is so much going on. To Start it off we lost my sweet Grandma Herbert.She was finally reunited with her sweet heart. It was a sudden death but we were all at peace because we knew that being with her husband was where she really wanted to be. She was a great lady and a good example to me and my family.

This is both my Grandma and Grandpa Herbert. Love them both so much!

I also got the chance to go watch my Dad finish the St. George Marathon. I had never seen a finish line of a Marathon, it was a cool experience for me. I started running with my dad two years ago, and know the feeling of accomplishment when finishing any race. It was fun to see all these people's faces after finishing 26.2 miles. My Dad finished in under 4 hours! I was so proud of him, that is the fastest he has run this marathon! Here are a fewpictures from this trip.

I also turned 25 this month. I didn't do anything really special for my birthday but I felt really loved by all my family and friends! I did have to work, but after work Jeff took me out for cafe rio and then we watched a movie. It was nice to spend time with my husband.

The day before halloween we carved pumkins with the allen family. Jeff's pumkin was awesome! The mouth carved out 311(his favorite band) It was a lot of fun. This was the first year in our 4 years of marriage we carved pumkins.

Last of all was Halloween. My work dresses up every year. This year was disney princess and princes. We only worked a half day, which I was so grateful for. I forgot how hard it is work in a costume. After work we just hung out at home waiting for our one trick or treater. haha

Grandpa Murray

On July 28, 2010 Grandpa Murray Allen passed away. We were so sad to see him go but know he is so happy where he is now. Jeff was really close to his grandpa and over the years jeff and I have been married I got to know him too. Jeff was named after his grandpa Murray, (Jefferson Murray allen). So he had that special little bond with his grandpa. When I met murray for the first time, the first thing he asked was how to spell murray, I spelled it for him and he replied you know that his Jeff's middle name right? :) we loved his stories and his big smile. He was such an example to us and we will miss him lots.

New Port Beach Temple

While Jeff and I were in California we wanted to go to the New Port Beach Temple and do a session there. The Temple was beautiful. It was nice to get away for those few hours and be in such a beautiful temple. I am so thankful that we have place that we can go and reflect and get away from the world.

This Picture has a funny story. So we had totally planed on going to the temple while in cali, we even packed our temple bags to make sure we go. Well the morning we are getting up to go Jeff realizes he doesn't have church clothes. So This is jeff in my dad's shirt, tie, and slacks along with his awesome tennis shoes! It makes for a good memory.

In July we got an invitation to go to cali with my mom and dad. My dad was going for work so he said if we wanted we could tag along and we would go to disneyland for a few days. For those of you who know me well, know that I would never pass up disneyland so of course we went. So Jeff and I made the drive down there and met up with my parents a day later. The first hotel we stayed in made our feet black so luckily we only stayed there one night. I guess the saying is true, you get what you pay for. The next day we met up with my parents and had a good breakfast and Denny's then went to disneyland. We had a lot of fun but it was july which means its super crowed and super hot. One of the days we were there we slept in and then hung out at the pool while my dad and mom worked. Later that night we went and had a crab dinner. Now when I say we I mean my mom, dad and jeff had crab and I had steak :) My dad Also rented a mustang so it was a lot of fun driving around cali in that. It was a pretty relaxed trip, we went to the beach and the temple. I was happy to spend time with my mom, dad, and my husband. Here are some pictures from our trip.

Summer Time

First off, we had a Great 4th of July. I ran the Freedom run 10k this year. I was so proud of my self, I finished in 1 hour in 2 min. And as usual I had a blast running with my dad. Right after I went down to the parade route to watch the parade with my family. I have never been much of a parade person but its tradition in Jeff's family so I enjoy being there with everyone. After the parade every year we go to my Grandma Herbert's house to have fried chicken and homemade root beer. I look forward to this every year. Then later in the afternoon we go and have a picnic in the park with the carter family. But we ended up at Nate and Tiffany's swimming and eating, which was loads of fun. Here are a few pictures:

Happy 50th Birthday!

On July 2, 2010 my sweet dad turned 50! I know am a little late, but how could I resist not putting this picture on my blog. We had a lot of fun celebrating for his birthday with family and friends. We had a BBQ and then homemade ice cream and jello cake. I am so thankful for my dad and all that he does for me. I hope he had a good birthday and I hope he knows how much I love him!

Top 10 things I love about my dad:

10- all of his silly voices! Kermit, old guy, goofy, Elvis, George Bush, the list goes on and on!

9- That no matter how old he gets he will always be the "disneyland dad"

8- I love how he loves and treats my mom

Run For Rex

On June 5th Jeff and I had the awesome opportunity to run in a 5k race for a sweet little boy Rex who has a brain stem cancer. It was a different feeling running this race then my first because we were running for this little boy. I was so glad we were able to help and support this little boy and his family. I also got to run with my cute husband who was with me the whole run. We also got to see a lot of our friends and family. I was pretty proud of my self because I did beat my last race score, this time I ran it in 29:29, Jeff was a sweet husband and let me finish first, he finished at 29:31! Still Catching Up..Turkey/Graduation/Memorial Day weekend

A few weeks ago for sunday dinner I decided to make a turkey breast. I had never made any sort of turkey before so I was pretty nervous that I was going to burn it or something like that. But I was happy when It turned out just perfect. We had Frank, Kathy, Tyler and Ali over to help us eat the whole thing. I was pretty proud of my self, I am not much of a cooker but I am learning. Jeff insisted to take a picture to remember the day. I should have got more but by the time I had cooked potatoes, green beans, and rolls pictures was the last thing on my mind. But hey we at least have one!

Then to Start off our memorial day weekend My Cute little brother Alec Graduated from Mountain View High School. He is Number six in our family to do so. I am so proud of him! Congrats Alec I love ya!

Every one in our family is getting so old! But we do have a lot of fun when we all get together.

After Graduation Jeff and I went right up to the cabin. We have a lot fun there. But it was sure cold this year. So we just hung out, I did a few puzzles, went fishing and ate good food. On saturday we all went for a walk down to the lake. On our way there Jeff was teaching McKailey how the throw a frisbee. By the end of walk she got pretty good at it. Here are few pics at the lake!

Later that night the girls were watching Anne of Green gables. You can imagine how thrilled the boys were about it, so they went upstairs to play the wii. The best part of the story was Jeff was giving McKailey a hard time about staying downstairs with the girls and said the boys were going to have a party upstairs with popcorn, soda and candy. Well... Jeff had to eat his words when McKailey took him seriously. She was so cute, she got them all a soda, and a cup, popped popcorn and then got some candy and they had their own little party upstairs.

So the weekend was a success! We always have fun with our families and are so grateful to have each and everyone of them!

Playing Catch up

So much to catch up on but that is the story of my life... Always behind haha. Well it has been busy april and May. April 1st was a big day in our family because Jeff and I got a nephew! It is so fun to have a baby around and he is as cute as ever! His name is Carter. Congrats to Tyler and Ali on being new parents! We love you guys! Here are few pics.

Then later that month Jeff and I got some babies of our own, Well... Baby chicks that is. 16 hens and 2 roosters. Our 6 chickens we have now are getting old so we decided it was time to buy more. Jeff loves to take care of them. We have a chicken coop in our backyard so its nice. I have not bought eggs in 9 months. So when these chicks get big enough we will have eggs coming out our ears!

We also did some painting in our house. We painted our bathrooms and kitchen. The kitchen was not my favorite. I had this great idea to paint it yellow... well after it was all done I hated the way it looked. It was like the biggest eye sore. So they very next day after spending hours on it, Jeff helped me repaint it. We did it the same color as the rest of the house, Nothing exciting but It looks good. Maybe one day I will go crazy again and want to paint it a different color, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. I have some before and after pictures but I will have to post those later.

Anyway, april and may was full of baseball games and lots of working. My little brother Alec was a senior so I tried to go to a lot of his games. Its hard when you work because their games are right when your working but I was lucky and got to see a few games.

Jeff finished up school at the end of april and got Straight A's in his classes. I was so proud of him. He works so hard so I was so I am glad the long hours studying paid off. He totally deserves it. Now he is enjoying the time off of school until fall and working landscaping. He loves it. I picked up a half day at work for a few week in may and june so that has been cool. I started assisting again for 1 and a half days. I have missed doing that. Oh How could I forget april is the busiest month for birthdays in our families.

Wow I hope I got everyone.

So we have had a lot of fun stuff going on and are excited for the summer. I can't take the cold anymore so it better stay warm. Anyway that is all for now until next time!

Las Vegas 2010

So the second weekend in march, Me, Jeff and his family went and spent a few days in Las Vegas. The main reason for going down was because Jeff's favorite band was having a show. 311 concert on 311 day.(March 11 for those who like me, did know what 311 days was ha ha) So we decided to make a trip of it, and the boys would go the concert and the girls would shop, then the other days we would go to a few shows. It was a 5 hour concert and jeff loved the whole thing! The amount of people there for the concert was insane! The line just to get a t-shirt was 2 hours long. But the boys had fun and that is all that matters. The other days we were there we went and saw Terry Fator and Lion King. Terry Fator was awesome! He is the guy that won America's got talent, for the singing ventriloquist. Then on saturday night we saw the lion king and that was awesome as well. We had awesome seats, only 7 rows from the stage! It was a nice little get away and it was fun to be with family. Here are a few pictures from out trip.

100 Years of Scouting

On Feb. 3 Jeff's home ward celebrated the 100 years of scouting and we were invited to the dinner and court of honor. It was really cool because they had invited everyone in the ward that got their eagle scout and who help at anytime in the scouting program. I was so proud of my husband for working so hard to get his eagle and want to thank his parents for helping him reach such an amazing goal. It was fun to see them all dressed up in uniform. And I would have to say he looks pretty cute in his uniform as well. So Thanks babe for making me so proud to be your wife!

Church Callings

So a couple months ago Jeff and I got new callings in our ward and we have had a lot of fun doing them. Jeff does so well with the boys and I have a lot of fun teaching my girls.

In January Jeff took the scouts up to the cabin where they cross country skied and made snow forts. They had a lot of fun and jeff enjoys any excuse to go out and have a little fun with just the boys.

I have been teaching the 8-11 year old girls in primary and also doing activity days. A couple weeks ago we had them over to our house and had a pizza party. We played Disney's scene it and had root beer floats. It was a fun way to get to know each other.

We are so grateful for the church and all it does for our little family. I am also so grateful I have a husband that is always pushing me to be a little better, and what good example he has been in his calling so I can be better in mine.

5k In St George

So this last weekend we went to St. George so I could run my first race. I was pretty excited and little nervous. My Goal was to not stop and have to walk and also to run in about 30 min or so. When I was training I was running about 10 to 11 minutes a mile so I figured that was a pretty reasonable goal. So we drove down on Friday to St. George and then went and got our T-Shirts, numbers and chip(this is so they know what time you started and ended). Then as a tradition, we had to go Carb load ha ha. Not that we really needed it for a 5k but it was in the spirit of things. We to Brick oven and had their awesome pasta bar. Then according to my dad, we need to pin our numbers on our shirts the night before, so after dinner that is what we did. The next morning we got up about 8 got ready then, to the race we went.

All in all in my experience I had good parts and bad parts. The good parts were that I finished with out stopping and my time we 31:31. Yay! The bad part was that I got the worst side ache after mile 2 and I could not get it to go away. I felt like I was going to die! This was probably due to the fact that the first mile and a half I was running 8.5 min a mile, and like I said before i I was training at about 10 to 11 min a mile. But being the competitive, suborn person I am I was not going to let my side ache stop me. So needless to say I was about to pass out once I passed that finish line. But it did feel awesome after I could breath again ha ha. I am so grateful I had my dad there with me while I ran and to my husband, mom and sister Kirsten there cheering us on at the finish line. I did finished 11th place in my age group and 243 in the whole race of about 500 hundred, so not too bad for my first race. It was a lot of fun and I look forward to my next race in july.

Starting Over...

So for those of you who still check to see if I even update my blog, can tell that I have not been good at it. I have not been good at it since I started the thing. I think part of that is because I don't really know how to use it, make it look cute, or feel like i have anything worth writing about that anyone would want to read. So I decided that my attitude was not the best and that I needed this blog for me and for no one else. Why the new attitude you ask?

Well My Grandpa Herbert died last monday January 11, 2010. And he loved to write a journal, and he did it on his computer. So I decided that I have put off journal writing for so long that its time to get my butt into gear and write a few things down. So if anyone is reading this or not here are a few things that have been going on in the life of Jeff and Kimberlyn Allen:

Jeff is going to school at UVU and is taking physics, and two chemistry classes. He got a scholarship from UVU which paid for school last semester and this semester (That was a total Blessing!) He is not working too much right now because it is the off season for landscaping. He is so excited to start it back up in the spring. But school has been keeping him pretty busy so I am sure he is not too sad for work being slow.

As for Me, I am still work for Dr. Barry. Back in October I started running with my Dad. We are going to run a 5K in St. George this weekend and I'm so excited. I haven't really caught the running bug yet but I enjoy the extra one on one time I get to spend with my dad running so it makes it worth it. After this race I am going to start training for a 1oK and then who knows where I will be then.

In August we moved into a house in provo. We have 6 chickens in our backyard and I have not bought eggs since I moved in. Its been a lot of fun being on our own again and we are enjoying our new ward.

Jeff got called to serve in the young mens. He teaches the deacons and helps out with scouts. Other then the boys being a little loud I think he enjoys it. I am serving in the Primary teaching the girls from ages 8-11. I love my calling one because primary is fun and two because we also do activity days, which is a blast.

Wow...I guess I have had a ton to blog about. I guess that is what happens when you are a month behind. So, for those who know the Allen family pretty well you wouldn't be shocked to hear we were at the cabin over the new year's. We always do fun things when we are at the cabin. But the new year's trip is the big snowmobiling trip. So we watch a lot of movies, eat a lot of food, the boys like to go hunting, we play on the snowmobiles, and play games. Its a lot of fun.

Merry Christmas Everyone! Jeff and I had a great Christmas! We had a lot of fun hanging out with family and spoiling each other rotten. It was nice this year because we didn't have any parties on Christmas so we just got to relax and enjoy the day. We also got to talk to my brother corban for the last time before he come home from his mission in Oklahoma. So anyway we had a blast and hope for great Christmas to come!

If you couldn't tell by my pictures we had Santa come to our Christmas eve party at the Carter home. He also brought his lovely wife Mrs. Clause :D This year was my first year not going to my grandma Herbert's for Christmas eve. Luckily Jeff's family does pretty much the same thing my family does for Christmas eve. We eat, do a little talent show, sing and Jeff's family does white elephants. It was different being somewhere else but still a lot of fun.

We had a great Thanksgiving this year! As always we start off the day with the Turkey bowl with the Carlson side of the family. I didn't get to watch much of the game this year because Jeff and I decided to be adventurous and go to both our families thanksgiving dinners. So I had four food assignments. I made two jello salads, two pumpkin pies and 10lbs of mashed potatoes. So I was a little busy. We first went to the Herbert's at 12:00 and then over to the Carter's at 2:00. So lets just say we ate a lot of food. It was a lot of fun. I am grateful we both have family close by so its easy to see everyone for the holidays.

I had so much fun on Halloween this year. I dressed up for work as Alice in wonderland. I only had to work a half day and got to spend the rest of the day hanging out. Last year Jeff and i stayed home and didn't have one person stop at our house trick or treating , so this year we ditch out and went to a movie. So it was a lot of fun.

I had a great 22nd birthday. We had our families come over to our apt and had cake and ice cream and played a little rock band. We had a lot of fun. I am lucky to have such a great family to have fun and spend time with. I want to thank my parents for being so great and always being there for me. I also want to thank Frank and Kathy for being great in laws. Thanks to my brothers and sisters and brother and sisters in laws for all the laughs, there is never a time when we are all together that we are not laughing. I also need to thank my best frined Sky, she has always been there for me and is an awesome friend. And last but not least, i want to thank Jeff for being such an awesome husband and for always making me feel special. My birthday wouldn't have been the same with out the people i love most.

Ok, now its my turn to tell how Kims birthday went. Kimers had a really rockin' birthday! The whole family was over and she got some really great presents. Rock band was,"bad to the bone" and I think Chris is by far the best. Anyways, thanks to all that came over and spent time with my wonderful wife. Yes we have a great family, and that's what it's all about. I just thinks your all so great. Also, I love my babe very much and want her to know that she is the most lovely, adorable, cute, beautiful, girl ever!

Terrible at blogging

So a lot has happened...so I am just going to get started. Jeff and I have been married over a year now and are still living in the Allen's basement. Which works out nice because my parents only live a few blocks away so it makes visiting parents really easy. Jeff is still busy with elders quorum and I am still loving being in young women's. Jeff is now finishing up with prime and has just started at Costco. In between that, church responsibilities and Chemistry, we still find some time to be together. So life seems to be going pretty good. I just started the fun task of scrap booking our first year together. ha ha I just finish our honeymoon... so I pretty much have my work cut out for me. Other then that life is just the same old stuff. Now we get to look forward to the holidays.

One Year has come and gone

Happy One year anniversary!
Yes it is true, Jeff and I have been married for a whole year! The time reallydoes fly. And I know I am so late in blogging about this, seeing how it is the end of October and our anniversary was on Sept. 13. We had a good day.. Jeff and I went to the BYU game and then went to chili's for dinner. It was fun just to get to spend a little time together. Someone asked me what i thought was the best thing about being married, is looking at the special someone knowing there is nobody else that could put up with all your crap. :D ha ha! I am very grateful for Jeff and all he does for me. I couldn't have asked for a better husband.

Disneyland!

So for Our big trip this year and to celebrate our one year anniversary coming up in two weeks we went to the happiest place on earth. We had kind of a bumpy start but the trip was a blast. We stayed at the travelodge. The funny thing about our hotel was that on the Internet site we thought it had said it was only a block or so away from Disneyland, but it was really a mile and some away from the park. But all in all it was a pretty nice hotel. We went on all the big rides, like splash mountain, Indiana Jones, California screamin and don't forget Heimlich's chew chew train! We had a lot of fun, it was a needed vacation and we enjoyed being together.

Well It has been awhile....I guess I haven't written sense march or something :D So I am here to update this little blog of mine. So we moved out of the house behind my grandparents house into my in-laws basement. We can't complain because everything is brand new! Jeff has just been working for his dad and going to school. I have been working at the Barry family dental group. I hit my 3 year mark this past may. We haven't done much this summer, which has kind of been a bummer but we have gone on some cabin trips and had a great experience camping with the Allen family over the 4th of July. I also got to the chance to go to girls camp with my ward. YW has been fun, I love the girls I work with. Speaking of church, Jeff also got called as the ward's Elders Quorum president. That, work and school have been keeping Jeff pretty busy. So now we are just getting ready for the summer to end and Jeff going back to school. We do however have a trip to Disneyland planned for our one year anniversary. We are pretty excited about that.

This was on our house! It was taller then me and almost taller then jeff. I am surprise we were able to pull it off the house with out breaking it.

In january i went skiing for the first time. It was a lot more fun then I thought it was going to be. We went with our friends skyler and braden. I fell flat on my face a few times but other then that we had a blast:D
